In this exhibition, Shirley Dougan uses the theme of trees to further explore the effects of pattern and colour, as well as the possibilities discovered through the awareness of negative space.
As stated in the exhibition title, it's mostly trees, however other things have snuck in and captured her interest things discovered during the painting process which revealed themselves with a bit of a nudge from the artist.
The exhibition takes place at in.cube8r gallery, a Fitzroy gallery taking no commission on artists sales home to 97 of Melbourne's best hand-crafters....
